A wedding cake too pretty to eat?

A lovely Wedding Decorator Blog reader named Nancy emailed me a few months ago (yes, I know, I’ve been a bit preoccupied) photos of a gorgeous wedding cake her boyfriend’s sister-in-law made over the summer.

It’s pretty evident that the wedding’s colors were pink and orange, and I gotta say, I would never have thought these two colors would go together so well. The cake table is decorated so festively, with pink rose petals, an orange runner across the white table cloth and what looks like crystal-like chunks scattered about the table.

Also, don’t you love those Gerber daisies?? They look so bright! However, Nancy says they are actually made of sugar. Amazing, considering they look so life-like.

Nancy says:

Carol makes the best cakes! Her website is www.cakesofcapecod.com. I asked her to post the cake she made for a family members sweet 16 party. OMG! It was amazing! I have made cakes in the past, nothing like Carol’s, and I didn’t even want to cut this one!

As always, I’d love to see photos Wedding Decorator Blog readers are taking of weddings they attend! Send your photos and comments to darleene (at) weddingdecoratorblog.com.
