When women think of customizing their wedding rings, I don’t think any of them have actually considered firing up an oven so they can actually heat up the silver, gold or platinum and create one out of scratch.
However, that’s what this one guy did, a few years ago. He recently posted a link to the photos to Reddit, where it exploded. I happened to find it on io9.
Sophia of Favor-Days.com contacted me a while ago, offering me a $25 gift certificate for anything I might like.
I don’t really plan on having a party anytime soon (even though my youngest will be turning 1 in August, I don’t know that I’ll have a party big enough to need party favors), so I figured why waste that $25 on myself and why not offer it to someone who really needs it — one of my readers!
One of my most popular posts on Pinterest is one about candle decorations, in particular one image of several candles in glass hurricanes, covered with lace. So I thought to myself — are there any other candle covers online that a bride can use? So I turned to Etsy.
When my husband looked over to see what I was blogging about, he remarked that this candle cover was really nice. It’s very classy and chic, perfect for a black and white wedding, if that’s what you’ve done. These look pricey, but they come in a batch of 30 (15 vase, 15 votive) for $75.
I consider myself to be a very good judge of people. And I truly believe that a person is what they do, which is why its so important to do what you love. So when I say I know some really awesome people working in the wedding industry, you better believe it.

I’ll be decorating a wedding this weekend for my brother. I’ll be decorating at a hotel in Universal City, which is pretty central, so it occurred to me if anyone here is really interested in seeing me drape, you might want to come on down. When I helped my brother with his wedding at the Huntington Beach Hyatt, his design partner Sophia mentioned to me just hot branches are when it comes to floral design and wedding decorations. I never thought about it before, but my mom often used willow branches in her arrangements. And branches can be used in so many ways.
My brother had me tie dendrobium orchids to several of the branches of this manzanita tree, which was custom made. I think it turned out nicely.
